Virtual Textbook Ltd hereby grants the purchaser of the software the right to use this software in pursuance of the normal business of education at the school that has purchased the software.
This means that the school is granted the right to copy this software onto any computer that enables the teaching staff to project the same onto their classroom’s whiteboard (interactive or not). There is no upper limit to the number of staff computers to which the software may be copied.
The software may also be copied onto laptops which are taken home by the teaching staff for purposes of lesson preparation. In so doing, it should not be assumed that the user has any ownership of the software.
Limitations
This software may not be copied to those parts of the school’s network that are accessible by the students and from which they could then make further copies.
If a member of staff who has a copy of the software on his/her laptop subsequently leaves the school to retire or pursue their employment elsewhere, they are legally required to remove all trace of the software from that laptop/computer before leaving that employment. It is the school’s responsibility under the terms of this agreement to ensure that this requirement is adhered to.
As this software is supplied for use by the teaching staff of the school in question, it is understood that the software may not be sub-licensed, altered, leased, rented or made available to a third party in any way at all. Further copies of the CD purchased may not be made under any circumstances whatsoever.
This software may not be transferred to the school’s website under any circumstances.
No user of this software should at any time attempt to alter the software in any way which notice includes the removing or changing of the copyright of the software. The Copyright and Intellectual Property Rights remain with the Author at all times.
